Dancers 4 Communities is an Erasmus+ Youth Exchange project. For one week you will eat, sleep and dance with 26 young people across Europe who are passionate about dance. Participating countries are the Netherlands, France, Turkey and Greece. You will get lessons from professional dancers and combine various styles into your own dance performance. Together with your team you will perform a dance show for the local community.
Aim of the project:
Dancers 4 Communities is a project that aims to bring together young people across Europe who are passionate about dance and want to learn more about different cultures.
During the 5-day event we would like to offer you:
- Dance clinics offered by professional dancers covering different styles.
- A dancer who guides you through the creation your own dance performance
- An international team and a coach that supports your process
- Free accommodation, travel and food
Date and place of the seminar:
The event will be held in Pontenx Les Forges, Bordeaux from the 17th to the 23rd of April 2023, where 17th is the arrival day and 23rd is the departure day.
The opening of the event will take place on the 17th of April at 19:00. Please make sure to arrive in Bordeaux before 16:00.
General agenda:
- Day 1: Opening at 7pm, get-to-know activities, dinner.
- Day 2-5: breakfast before 9 AM; 9/9:30 AM to 7 PM group work, dance clinics and community activities; 7 PM dinner and free time
- Day 7: breakfast, departure day
Travels:
We support green travel and encourage you to get together with your national team and come to the venue by car.
→ If you live in France, all expenses for public transport are covered. If you come to the event by car, we compensate €0.24 per kilometer if you bring at least 1 other participant to the event.
→ If you live outside of France, there is a budget of €340 to fly to Bordeaux. We can only cover your costs up to the amount mentioned. If the travel is more expensive, you need to cover it yourself. Traveling during free time is also on your own account.
The travel costs will be reimbursed after the submission of all travel documents and costs after the event.
How to get there:
From the Merignac Aeroport (Bordeaux Airport) you take a bus to Bordeaux central station:
Gare Bordeaux (35 mins). You can buy the bus ticket on the airport or through this link. From the central station, you take a train towards Gare Saint Jean. Take off at the ‘Labouheyre’ station (45 mins). Train tickets can be bought on the station or through this link. At the station of Labouheyre, we pick you up and take you to the accommodation. Make sure that you arrive at the pick-up location around 18:00.

Accommodation:
All participants will be accommodated in L’Atelier des Résiniers. The address of the accommodation is 120 chemin de résiniers, Pontenx les Forges, 40200, France. Lodging is provided by the organizers.

Food:
All the main meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) are provided by the organizers for the duration of the project. Between these meals, extra foods and drinks, are for your own expenses. On the arrival day (17.04) dinner is included and on the departure day (23.04) only breakfast. We will try to take care of your dietary needs and requirements as best as possible. Please let us know if you have any.
International Nights
During the project participants from each participating country will share something about their country. Please bring some typical drinks, snacks or souvenirs from your country to share!
